Iranian doc ‘The Radkan Tower’ to vie at RAM film festival

Iranian doc ‘The Radkan Tower’ has been set to vie at the 2022 edition of the Rovereto Archeologia Memorie (RAM) film festival in Italy.

Directed by Ehsan Mollazadeh and Hojjat Heidari, the Iranian documentary will compete in the Archaeological Cinema section of the 34th edition of the Italian gala.

‘The Radkan Tower’ is about a 25-meter conical brick tower in Iran, which has attracted visitors for centuries.

It is a very advanced astronomical instrument, built almost 800 years ago under the supervision of Khawaja Nasir ad-Din al-Tusi, which has the ability to determine the exact moment of the change of each season, bringing the good news of the arrival of the spring.

The RAM film festival aims at “reaching and informing the general public about the preservation and enhancement of the world heritage and the archaeological research”, according to an online submission platform.

The 34th edition of the event will kick off on September 28 and run until October 2.
